yea i just read em good stuff

.....ive never been a fan of modern physical freaks like zab judah, etc whenever they met superior technicians they have lost.....vitali lost to lewis cuz he finally met a man who could match his strength...at the end of it metions sports illustrated vault you go to th si.com website and read old articles i do that at work....learned alot in the past few weeks

Yeah they are good. I went onto YouTube to check out some Joe Gans after reading them. Damn what a fighter!

I'll check out si.com it sounds good. Anything particular articles on there you'd recommend?

you go to the website www.si.com and click vault on the top of the page....search "boxing' or "tyson" or whatever a million things pop up...the search sucks because you can only see 5 articles a page so it takes a while to flip thru....the ones from this decade suck but before 2000 it was a very good boxing source

some good ones off the top "leonard-hagler preview", hagler said "hes a fraud they give him alis trainer and tricks and robinsons nickname"
some good articles on ali in the 60s, floyd patterson wrote 2 articles calling ali out and sonny liston a quitter,
they have alot of good ones on duran

i like reading about carlos monzon, i didnt like him at first i thought he was a protected fighter, but he went to italy and knocked out the top dog...thats cold...and he ran 45 mins in the morning and sparred 90 minutes during the day thats all

People nowadays just don't realize how far boxing has slipped.

A prime Carmine Basillio would be killing mofos.

Can you image the HELL a RPIME Tony Zale would be raising.?

The more I learn about old fighters, the more I'm inclined to agree with you. The overall technicality of boxers does seem to be inferior to those of yesteryear.

I'll have a look at the Monzon ones because I've always had Hagler as the #1 middleweight, without knowing loads about Monzon.
