    Berto-Urango coming soon?

B0xingtalk has been informed that negotiations are underway for undefeated WBC welterweight champion Andre Berto to defend his title against 140 pound titlist Juan Urango. If a deal is finalized the bout would take place on HBO May 30.

Urango's moving up? He should do, that's one outsized looking 140lber.

i cant see slow, plodding, one handed, one dimensional urango doing very well ... he may surprise me but i doubt it ... i understand him giving it a go all the big names in jr ww are busy right now and he should get decent money for the berto fight. but i dont see jom doing very well unless berto gets into a war with him, which we all kno can happen.

urango should stay at jr ww where his size and power can be really effective...

Berto is gonna bite the dust, if Urango hits him on the chin.

i'd give urango a very decent chance, He's a very strong fighter who can hit very very hard, plus with bertos suspect chin he'd be in with a shot.
But if berto chooses to box he'd box rings around urango and use his speed to baffle the columbian.

I heard about this a while ago, I was hoping it was just a joke.

In my opinion this is a pointless fight. What is Berto going to prove by beating a jr. welter when hes trying to establish himself at welter? This fight doesn't make any sense. Berto should be able to slice and dice Urango up, Urango is nothing special. He will be even less special at 147.

Not a bad fight I guess, but Berto needs to rematch Collazo first and foremost.

Urango is nothing special, i agree, but what happens when he lands a few of those haymakers? This is an interesting fight to me.

Berto should vacate the trinket he holds if he isn't on planning on fighting fighters in the upper echelon of the 147lb division.
