Do you think Floyd will come back?

    First Floyd thread I have made and I must admit I AM interested as you can fully understand. Obviously there has been big news reports and it seems that a comeback is getting closer and closer, and more obvious. However we have yet to hear it from the horses mouth so we cannot jump to conclusions just yet, so I have got two questions;

    1. Do you think he will comeback?
    2. Who do you want him to fight?

Please absolutely NO hating, NO nut hugging, and NO negativity. Just state if you think he will, and who you want him to fight... no saying "I want him to fight Cotto but he wouldn't cause hes a *****!", please don't lets just keep this nice and hate free okay guys?

I just don't want to be held to fault for loads of people arguing and being negative towards one another about it, we get enough of that as it is.

Anyway give your opinions and discuss with one another...

When Floyd says he's "retired" he means from meaningless, low-purse fights.

I still don't believe he's comin back yet, cuz he ain't said so himself. If he does, I want him to fight SSM or whoever is the #1 WW if/when he comes back.

I've heard that he will, due to him losing a lot of money in recent times. now don;t have a do at me for this becasue this is what i heard -
he lost a lot of money from his house being robbed (??!!)
and he's lost some money in real estate in the US.

whether the above factors would have a significant effect on his bank balance, who knows.

i hope he does make a return and i reckon - purely for money reasons - he'd give hatton another crack, in the UK at wembley, providing RH beats MP. I on the other hand don;t really want to see this. Although I'd go, I think it'd just be a repeat of Dec 07.

I'd like to see him fight cotto or SSM. Don't really want to see him fight pacman, saying that though, if he beats hatton, then this surely has to be the fight??

He lost $7,000,000 worth of ***elry from the house being robbed, I don't know whether the tax issue is true or not cause Floyd has denied it (he wouldn't admit it if it was true, and wouldn't admit to it if it wasn't so who knows). Yeah, he probably isn't earning as much money from the investment in real estate due to the recession though it would have been a fantastic investment if the recession didn't happen. Whether like you said this has affected his bank balance if its all true, I don't know... I very much doubt he is broke, far from it... but he still probably isn't earning as much money from these investments as he was when he first made them (if you get what I mean?).

I don't think he is coming back due to being broke because I think he could grind out this recession and once it dies over he would be earning a lot of cash again, but what do I know I am not an expert... all I am saying is that he may be coming back due to love of the sport after having his break, after letting his body heal from injuries or maybe even due to fighters constantly calling him out as if he is still active and saying they could beat him (it could piss him off, and he may want to set the record straight). I am not saying it is for this reason or that, I am just saying there is a possibility... or maybe it could be for all of those things.

Anyway, if he comes back... I would like to see him fight; Pacquiao, Cotto, Mosley and/or maybe Marquez (if so though, it would have to be his closest fight in which to sharpen his skills, not a tune-up by no means though). If he fights all of these I would be extremely happy, if he fight a few of them instead I would still be happy (maybe not as if he fought them all, but as a fan of the guy I would just like to see him in there for a few more fights).

If his heart isn't in it anymore though I wouldn't want him to come out of retirement... I only want to see him do it if he is happy doing so and his heart is in it, I don't like to see people fighting against there will when they want to stay retired. I am not jumping to conclusions about the Mayweather speculations too, I am gonna believe it when I see it.

i hear you spacey1991 re affecting his bank balance. he will obviously have plenty of coin still.

next opponents - not too sure about the JMM or MP fights. like i said though, if MP beats RH then this is the obvious choice, as if SSM or Cotto.

If it was down to money, in my opinion, the biggest money spinner depending on his next fight would be hatton. If hatton beats MP then I'll give hime MORE of a chance of giving PBF a fight but as it stands at this moment in time he's doesn;t stand much, with or without cortez!!

I get ya, just for a quick point... Pacquiao vs Mayweather will make more than Hatton vs Mayweather, no doubt trust me on that one. British fans would love to see the rematch, Boxing fans would love to see Pacquiao vs Mayweather.
