I've always said JC should fight Dawson and in doing so, providing he beats him, he will shut people up. I very, very much doubt JC would put so much on the line by fighting Dawson though.

Another thing to think about is Froch. DOn;t get me wrong, at this mo in time CF is nowhere near JC's league, but a couple of fights ago, CF called out JC on T.V whilst being on the phone to him. JC said if the money was right he'd fight him. Two or three fight after JC was griefing him saying he doesn't like Froch never has done and wouldn;t gine him the pay day. Why didn;t he say that is the first place??

Just to get this clear, I'm not a JC hater.
Again, pretty much agreed, If he fights and beats Dawson, I still wont like him, but ill respect him alot more.

But im gonna be honest here, to me Joe Calzaghe comes across as a fighter seriously afraid to lose a fight and I think his sole ambition is to preserve that unbeaten record any way he can. This is the reason people dont like him, his whole career comes across as very carefully managed.

His reasons for retiring change with the wind, one minute there are no big fights for him, next min he isnt motivated anymore, you never know he might be tempted back, next min he has nothing to prove in the sport of boxing, next min boxing is dying.

Looks like he is making excuses galore.

Stop making excuses for the guy, he beat the champion by way of a controversial split decision. There should have been a rematch.

What if hopkins had got the decision over calzaghe?

You think joe would be saying "I dont want the rematch cos the 1st fight was boring"? no, he'd be screaming robbery and going after the rematch.
