Cotto, sad to say, is on the sidelines in this argument. Maybe Floyd SHOULD have fought him. Maybe he would of beaten him, although I HIGHLY doubt it. Cotto's alure in fighting Mayweather has definitely diminished after losing badly to Margs. Now that Shane has KO'd Margs, the only legitimate fight to be made, if we're speaking of active WW's and champion status, is Shane/Floyd. Now, back to reality. Floyd is ONLY coming back for money. Period. Pacman has it, Cotto doesn't. It's as simple as that. The business end of boxing is rearing it's ugly head again and there are plenty more meaningfull fights out there for Floyds legacy, but, again, that's irrelevent in all of this. I'm not even sure, given the time that has passed and the events that have unfolded, if there is still even an interest in a Cotto/Floyd fight. Mayweather beats Cotto so if you're a fan of Cotto, this is the last fight you want to see him in. Although it would be a great oppurtunity for him. Who knows, this is a twisted sport, anything can happen.

lets just forget about it, we know why floyd is coming back. to fight the lightweights(pac and marquez), avoid the top welterweights, get paid, get the IRS off his back and retire again. no need to continue wanting floyd to fight a top ww cuz he wont do it. would've, could've, but wont

Cotto has never said he wants to fight Mayweather. Cotto fans want Cotto to fight Mayweather but mister "I fight whoever my people put in front of me" has never called Mayweather out; and if he has called him out, show me proof..Pacquiao has said publically that he would love to fight Floyd Mayweather. Freddie Roach went as far as to say he knows how Pacquiao can beat Mayweather..if u want a fight with sumone..its called..calling them out. And oh, the "i dont do business with Bob Arum" thing..name the last Top Rank-based fighter, Floyd foguth while not being in Top Rank himself?..If Cotto woulda beat Marg, the Jan fight woulda been Cotto/Mosley II and the winner woulda most likely fight Mayweather..not positively but woulda been very close

make NO mistake vous i think that Floyd has ALL the tools to beat ANY welter but fact is that he takes low risk fights and doesn't put his amazing natural talent to beat the people he HAS to beat. that's going to be the difference in being top 30 ATG or NOT.

                Thats not Floyds fault.
When Cotto beated Mosley and PBF beated hatton and the DLH rematch fell through, whta Mayweather did? retire. he could of fought COtto then, but he went with his famous,"Ill fight a Miguel Cotto, But not now", he needs to build his fanbase, or become his own promoter because I wont do bussines with Bob Arum.

Why ducking margarito cotto mosley all these years?
what makes you think miguel cotto deserves anything?? floyd has been a champ for ten years, and you saying that this new commer with this padded record should be the one that gets the shot, when fighters like pac have been in floyds shadow for years? pac deserves that fight more than anybody else in boxing... leave that bull**** in pr

I disaggre that Floyd is coming back for money only..when u turn down the Goldenboy rematch for about 20 mill(maybe woulda gotten more) ur def not interested in boxing anymore, ur not motivated, he wants ot comeback ecause hes motivated, if he wanted money i think he woulda been talking trash to DLH and desperately pusuing him..If Money was the case..
