i think shane is too robotic to beat floyd, but shane is a great fighter. this is true to the core. my thing is only overall skillset. floyd does practically everything better than shane but the thing many of you fail to point out and i have to continually remind you, is how naturally pure floyd does what he does, he always looks comfortable in the ring, and he fights comfortable too most of the time. that gets me, larry merchant says he fights as naturally as a fish swims, that's the biggest and best trait a fighter could have imo. fighting as naturally as an animal walks or climbs or swims. i mean, and he's right, floyd has always made fighting look easy. he's hardly ever looked stiff in the ring. his movement has for the most part been fluid. his defense has for the most part looked subperb, although he has been hit a lot. but many of the shots have been grazing or has missed but looked good to the crowd, but floyd's poise in the ring, whether he's losing rounds or winning rounds has always been calm and collective shane has looked desperate and has made foolish mistakes and has fought dumb at times. floyd has mainly fought smart in most of his fights, which is why he is considered on of the smartest fighters in history in only 39 fights. that accounts for something. he trains very hard, throws 6000 punches at times during training, yet is selective with his punch output during his fights. his accuracy is amazing, he had the best ratio in boxing for punches he landed and was landed against him out of any fighter before he retired, and whoever was 2nd wasn't even close to him. all of this makes me believe he would defeat shane, prime or not, floyd is that rare fighter who becomes the great of his generation, like a roy jones, like a srl, like a ali, like a tyson, like a srr, like a joe louis, like a hopkins, like a calzaghe like a marciano, like a armstrong, and currently like a pacquio. floyd's genius is his mindset, you can see how he can dodge punches and counter and his eye movement is sick. he sees almost everythig and counters off of the block better than anyfighter i have ever had the pleasure of watching. he can counter off of the shoulder roll and land an uppercut or right cross, it's skills like that, that makes him that much more gifted and great, and very very very hard to beat. no fighter will beat floyd mayweather jr. easily, period. floyd imo would dust mosley...mosley is a great fighter though, an all time great no doubt.

Dude, I dont know how you can say hes an embarrasment for american boxing. Hes a straight up warrior. He fought Winky and Vernon when no one else would because he was a real fighter. If you are indeed a Floyd fan like others have said on here, i can understand the hatred toward Shane but thats alittle too much. But its your opinion. Just be prepared to be hated on by the millions of Floyd haters on this website.

how much you wanna bet. i guarantee you that floyd would outbox the living **** out of winky and vernon. i guarantee you. he would have beaten oscar in his prime, he would have crushed vargas, outboxed the living **** out of him. you really need to watch floyd's style and how it progressed up to highter weight classes. his mindset is the most technically gifted thing about him, he was overall a smarter fighter than pernell and punched harder and countered off the block much better. he used the ring better and had better offense than pernell also. he jabbed much better than shane and was faster and better skilled overall. he had beetr defense than srl and was more skilled than benitez. i can vouche for this because i've actually watched these guys fight extensively and floyd is the most fluent fighter out of all of these guys, period.

unlike damn near every other fighter floyd refuse to fight the best. if dude would handle his business in te ring i would respect him more. its a reson he aint fighting these dudes. he know his limits.

Floyd would win a wide UD..but shane is much bigger and if he could corner floyd he could batter him with his good hand speed and power...floyd does have a tendency to get cornered.
