    Hatton Fans Must Admit

Look, I like Hatton and I think he has a good chance of winning. Ive been going back & forths on the fight. However, you all have to admit that its way way way way way better for boxing if Pac demolishes him and fights Floyd. The fact is that boxing has had some great fights since the 80's but everytime boxing gets set up for a super mega fight, something bad always happends, and the fight never comets to fruition.

Even just recently it happened with Cotto. I made basicaly this same thread before the Cotto-Margarito fight. I truly thought Margarito would win because of his size but I truly wanted Cotto to win to possibly setup a mega undefeated fight with Floyd. It sucks that Cotto lost and it sucks even more now because you find out that Margarito probably cheated. Cotto may still come back at a high level and they may fight in the future but it still wont be as big of a fight as it couldve been.

We had a mega fight with Oscar-Tito but I think everyone feels that the fight itself actualy ******. This is the chance to get the 2 legitimate P4P best in the ring together and it would be huge if Floyd kills JMM & Pac kills Hatton. Even the Hatton fans have to want there boy to lose. Ofcourse boxing would go on even if Hatton won but there is no doubt that the sport needs a shot in the arm and this is it. You would have a great 24/7 show with Pac-Hatton and then you would have Floyd's comeback against JMM probably trumping a big UFC card. Then you have the 2 biggest stars in the sport facing eachother. All the networks would cover it like its the 80's and they probably would have 6 shows on 24/7 instead of the normal 4. Hatton has to lose, bottom line

Agree with you, DLT, it's better for boxing if Manny wins. I don't want to see Mayweather-Hatton II.

I want Hatton to win, but I agree that Pac vs Floyd would be better for boxing. It's the only fight that I would actually like to see Floyd in at this point.

Can't agree with you, cuzfozzy! De La Hoya would not ruin his reputation just to set Hatton up with Pacquiao. It's not worth it. Simple fact is he greatly underestimated Manny and paid for it. I believe that Oscar's intention was to destroy Pacquiao because 1) it's a business thing, and 2) it's a personal thing, and 3) to put himself into position for another Mayweather fight.

Even if Pacquiao had lost, Manny would still be in a position to fight Hatton.

Oscar offered Hatton a fight and Ricky turned it down. Oscar's only other mega-fight option was Pacquiao.

agree on 1 and 2... though on number 3, i believe he wants to fight hatton on England.. that's what he is saying even before the PAC fight.. the reason why he wants to fight PAC at 147 where Hatton may agree to fight.. not on some catchweight of 150.. he kinda look at PAC as a stepping stone towards his megafight with hatton at wembley..

I'm calling bull**** on this one, what is 'best for boxing' is that the best fighter win in an exciting fight.

As to a potential Hatton v. Mayweather 2, if PBF has a 'tune up' (cough...) against JMM that's as likely to be at 140 as at 147, particularly if he fancies Pacquiao after that. At that weight, my money is on Hatton.
