The best opponent Cotto has faced so far is in his last fight against Clottey. Yes, he won the fight by a close split decision but many thought that he lost.

Mosley dominated the number one welterweight in the world which was Margarito.

Say what you want about the hand wraps because I believe Margarito cheated against Cotto also, but Cotto didn't hurt Margarito as badly as Mosley did.

In the end it should come down to who they've beaten.

Cotto: Split decision against the 3rd or 4th best in the world.
Mosley: Dominated the number one in the world.

Mosley is number one.
