You thinkinig Floyd is god is expected. You not knowing anything about Chavez prime or early fights is expected. Chavez was fast at 135 and 130. Hows Mayweather going to hurt Chavez? If Mayweather mostly fought latino fighters (12 out of 18 title fights), wouldn't you expect at least 2/3 of the guys who gave him the most trouble to be latinos? Castillo, Judah, De La Hoya and Hatton are the ones to win more rounds against him. 2 of them (1/2) are not latinos. Your argument fails.

Finally Roberto Duran would be the one perfecting that style of boxing, not JC

actually, I find that Chavez's way of walking down a running opponent was more effective than Duran's. Im not just talking about Duran's losses to Leonard and Benitez...who are some of the best fighters of all time...Duran just had problems with movers. even against guys like Edwin Viruet and Lou Bizzaro Duran would get frustrated having to chase after him. its actually kind of funny too. hes winning basically every round, but in his facial expression and the choices he made in the ring you could practically hear his brain screaming 'oh my gawd wtf holy shi.. ****ING FIGHT ME STOP RUNNING!'

Duran was a step above Chavez in the infighting department though, because he could counter waaay more effectively than Chavez could(among other things), who for the most part would play defensive and then pick at all the openings he could find.

Chavez was too good defensively to be potshotted like Castillo was in the second fight...and was too effective at closing the distance and could quickly rack up damage on the inside, quicker than Castillo as well.

yeah he displayed some of the best defense in the whitaker fight. tht was awesome, and the first fight with taylor tht was the most excellent art of defense since the days of willie pep.

floyd is a bum with no defense at all and its obvious chavez's defense ****s all over him as seen by the amount of punches he blocked in the whitaker fight

even the mexicans in the arena were shocked at his brilliant defense, i would definately think he would pick apart fraud gaywather since he has a better defense, speed, footwork than floyd its so obvious a casual fan could see chavez rips him!!!
