I'm with that, I only get a kick out of playing against the computer with my low stats create a fighter.
What does everyone think about the buttons being removed as a control option? Are you a stick or a button user?
I'll play with both but I'm more of a button player myself, allows me to take quicker advantage of openings and such. I just find the sticks to be a little too restricting.Comment

I read you can use the buttons what do you mean? The stick is too hard and tiresome thats gets old quick. I read to throw hard punches it will be the bumper and and button. So to my understanding you can still use the buttons, everybody does.I'm with that, I only get a kick out of playing against the computer with my low stats create a fighter.

Bad news man, EA confirmed that this game will be sticks only.
I know they had originally said otherwise, but...
Yeah there's huge backlash going on in forums over the decision. Its a bad move, people should be able to use whatever config they want.
Button users get looked down upon by stick users, I guess they think it takes more skill to use the sticks, which is just bull**** really.
GAMESPY ->
'Button mashing has been banished. Round 4 is going to force you to use the right stick to punch. After years of enduring randomly button-mashing boxers, I'm relieved to hear that they'll have to work a little harder to land some blows. Perhaps to compensate, you can now chain together multiple attacks with the right stick. For example, a one-two combo can be inputted before the animation of the first punch is complete. It sounds cool, but I'm a little skeptical until I've played it. EA promises that you'll be able to cancel commands with a button tap, lest you waste stamina. I need to try it and see how the dynamics balance out.'Comment

I don't know how I will adjust to this. Although Ive been learning how to use the sticks, its nowhere near as good or reliable as the buttons.
As some consolation, they're saying that the sticks are far more responsive this time around allowing for chained combos and stuff...
Its a shame, but it wont stop me from buying it. I guess button users will have to get their training in on the sticks with FN3 before FN4 hits.Comment

How old is that article? I just read an article the other day after a mag tested it and they said for power punches its the bumper and a button, maybe that article you have is old.Comment

I believe youre right, I just reread it and it said to throw a hook you will no longer need the stick but hold the bumper and the stick. If you cant use buttons I will rent this game first and probably not even buy it, that ruins the whole game for me.Just a couple days unfortunatley. Theres debate going on here about it...

Yeah people are begging EA to bring the buttons back, but I don't think they can because it would throw all the timing off now. They've set it for only sticks, so there's no going back. You never know, hopefully the stick play might just be amazing. We can hope
