Clottey is just a big muthafucka for welterweight. Coming in at 170lbs I doubt he'll be feeling any pain. Best bet for Cotto is to outbox him for 12 rounds and win a decision.
Cottos Body Attack Will Crush Clottey...heres why

Clottey's got taht Ghana body armor; Cotto's Puerto Rican spears could do enough damage toward the end of the fight. Then again you can't knock Clottey, there's a reason why he's a high risk/low reward fighter.Comment

People will realize how hard Coto hits to the body after this fight.
Body punching is the key, CLottey gass out fast, he dont farewell with bodypunches and thats the most likely punch that Cotto will land, the left hook to the body!!!!Comment

You guys act like you have never watched boxing before. I even heard Atlas or one of the TV guys talk about this kind of stuff before. 1st off Clottey has the high guard D like Winky, Abraham, and Quartey. If you do it right, you can block some of those body shots but even if you dont block any of them its fine because those guys have been prepared to take those shots all there life. Infact, I now remember that it was one of the announcers on the Oscar-Sturm fight. You remember when Oscar was lighting him up to the body? The guy said that those shots wont really bother Sturm because he's had that high guard his whole life so he's use to people hitting him in the body.
Now think of guys like Clottey, Winky, Abraham, and Ike. They are just super hard type guys. Body shots arent going to break them down like there a normal fighter. There style of D has trained them to specificaly eat body punches. If there is one guy who wont be hurt but the body shot, its Clottey. All you have to do is look at the Margarito fight. You guys keep talking about Cotto-Margarito but what about Clottey-Margartio? In that fight Clottey hardly threw any punches after he hurt his hand. Margarito teed off on him because nothing was coming back. He actually broke the punches thrown record for a fight and most of them was to the body. I remember the fight clearly. If he can take 50 body shots per round from Margarito and not be hurt then he can definatly take them from Cotto, e****aly since he's going to be firing back.
On top of that, guys like Clottey love for you to hit them in the body because that makes it much easier for them to counter. If you hit them up top then they go into a shell and try to block everything but if you hit them to the body, thats when they let there hands go with blistering combos to the head.Comment

Clottey will lose a UD.
Before I thought this fight would be close, but now I see Cotto winning this fight clearly by UD. 116-112.
Clottey will blow a lot of chance by using the ear muffs. He doesn't apply pressure, he stands infront of you. Something that will benefit Mr Cotto.
I can't wait.
Im taking bets! PM ME!Comment

I dont know what you mean. I saw the fight and I just thought it was 2 tough guys fighting eachother while Richard was extremely confident because I think at that time he was still undefeated. He definatly landed shots to the body but I didnt think they bothered Clottey and I thought Clottey was letting him land alot of those shots because thats his style, he can take it, and then he fires back with the blistering counters. I think Cotto will land them too if he wants but they wont bother him and it will open Cotto up to be counteredComment

If anybody noticed Cottos loss to Marg...regardless of the glove controversy he got away from the body attack and admitted the week after that he got too caught up in margs head bc it was often open....clottey has never been tested to the body by a guy like miguel who could tear apart a persons ribs...in my mind if miguel cotto connects a few left hooks to the body early it will be the begining of the end for Clottey...for that matter anybody that cotto fights doesnt stand a chance against those viscious body attacksComment

clottey will prepare for the hook to the body. he will block them with his elbows. that's what the turtle defense is all aboutComment
