Yeah of course he would have to be careful, the chin is always gonna be a probem but khan will not be able to make lw for much longer, put it this way I will be astonished if he is still a lw this time next year. He is way too big, he was taller and wider then ricky hatton when they stand side by side and ricky is a pretty big lww. The only reason he makes it is cos he has skinny legs. I think he will be forced to mature into a lww no doubt about it. Like I said before it may do him good also
Sensible suggestions for Khan’s next opponent..

yeah he almost got himself knocked out in that fight also don't forget, don't get me wrong I don't think khan is ready for katsidis yet...thats why I said he shouldn't be rushedm by the end of the year I think he will be ready for a katsidis or someone on that levelComment

exactly...so when he makes mistakes like against Barrera there not fatal.
I would only put him into a world title fight or a dangerous puncher once he has ironed out the flaws sufficiently enough, which is the road I think they will takeComment

Those suggestions are nothing short of idiotic for his next fight, I think there is a minimal possibility they would consider david diaz, but I doubt it, he should not be in there with anyone on that list. There is no rush with him, he should be looking at a possible european title shot or maybe meager or thaxton, he should be looking at fighting john murray or a top 10 lw towards the end of the year, and then maybe a world title shot, or possibly fight for a vacant title end of the year, maybe beginning of 2010
You seem to forget that ricky hatton didn't fight for a major world title until he was 26, and calzaghe was 25, why rush khan...let him learn his trade and progress under roach
Khan has an extensive amateur record at the top level to help break him into the game and has had much more resources and support available to him than even Hatton had
how about Floyd Mayweather, another fighter with an exemplary amateur record and was tipped for success and stardom from a young age like Khan? He beat Tony Pep, Genaro Hernandez and Angel Manfredy all in his second year in the pro's
Oscar De La Hoya, same thing, was a world champion by his 12th fight.
Khan, with his Olympic medal, gigantic media hype and and win over Kindelan was expected by most to follow this path - he didn't need to work his way from the bottom to the top

Khan having an extensive amateur career is the one of the biggest myths that people don't understand about his career. He had an extensive junior amateur career, which 90% of pro's do. BUT....
He had a limited senior amateur career, he was barely allowed to go to the olympics because of his lack of experience. It was only because he threatened TEAM GB that he would fight for Pakistan that they decided to allow him to go over. He was expected by many to exit in the first round, but every one clearly underestimated his natural talent and speed. He then fought Kindelan in a rematch and fought 2 fights in the ABA's before going pro. His amateur experience of fighting amateur men was only between 20-30 fights. Ricky hatton had over 90, same with the other fighters you mentioned.Last edited by sunny31; 03-16-2009, 01:27 PM.Comment

Plenty out there.
1 Re-match with Prescott
2 Nate Campbell
3 David Diaz
4 Paul Malignaggichops
5 Zab Judah
Who else you thinking? Personally, i think he’s got to be a ‘draw’. MAB was exactly that, a huge draw, and we all watched it. Bums on seats is what it’s all about. IF Khan is going to make it in boxing then he has to step it up now because the eyes of the boxing world are on him.
No more easy fights, deep end match-up's from now on. Personally i dont think he can make it as an elite fighter, but if he wants recognised respect then he's got to have a pop at it (not that this'll satisfy many of you lot)!
Personally, Prescott, then maybe David Diaz this year, assuming he wins both, a title shot against whoever might be holding a version at 135 in Jan 2010Comment
