Calzaghe won his court case against Frank Warren!
Former 168 and 175-pound world champion boxer Joe Calzaghe has won a court case over his former promoter Frank Warren, being awarded £2 million in unpaid fees. While acknowledging money was owed to Calzaghe,
Warren pointed out that Calzaghe’s “exaggerated and fanciful” claim was reduced by £1.5 million and Sport Network plans to appeal. He also stated, “I am of course extremely disappointed that the Judge did not go further in accepting we had an agreement with Joe to promote his last fights. This is especially so as the Judge criticized Joe and his lawyer. The Judge found that Joe ‘chose to tell deliberate lies’ to the Court (paragraph 138 of the Judgment), and that his ‘evidence was also unsatisfactory in many respects.’
No kidding, Joe's been lying about his career and who he's "wanted" to fight for over a decade. Frank Warren helped him build the biggest lie in boxing and now he's surprised. Talk about the student schooling the teacher. Serves you right Frank. You single handedly set boxing back 25 years with this guy. You should have served him up to Jones in 99 so we could have forgotten about this chump along time ago!
