Comment on the Commentators for Khan vs Barrera

Well, I'm not sure the same commentators were calling the fight as the ones that were on the Live Stream, but damn...talk about BIASED??!!??!!

I've seen some UK fans here bash guys like Merchant or Lampley for "biased" remarks towards specific fighters. But damn, even in the pre fights where Martinez scored the KO over Cook, you can tell they were dumbfounded and trying to make "legit" excuses.

I don't know, just was noticing it during the fight and found it quite hilarious.

Not heard as was at the fight, however, i assume it was Ian Darke and Jim Watt

Yeah, they do side with the Brits in terms of clearly stating who they WANT to win, but as commentators they're fair. Especially Jim Watt who is CLASS.

Well for instance, one of them was like "This win is going to make Khan a superstar!!" I'm like...word? LOL..and I'm not hating on Khan at all, he did a great job. But the announcers to me sounded like they were calling the fight from Khan corner, literally.

I think they are biased yes, but why wouldn't they be...I think in the US it is a different environment as you get so many fighters from different parts of the world, and it is a much larger country so biased generally works by state, or a certain region, but here in the UK we support our athletes, I think the commentators generally call it pretty fair in terms of the action and scorecards (the official things). But of course they want the British fighter to win, we don't produce loads of talent in many individual sports. So people like amir khan and the other UK boxers, and lewis hamilton and before he retired Tim Henman are popular and well supported.

They are commentating purely for the UK, it is not an international commentary.

I feel you on that, but the PPV was broadcast over here on PPV too (for $25 and it was a pretty damn good card).

I mean, it ain't that big of deal, but I was putting it in comparison to when people claim guys like Merchant or Lampley are being biased.
