5 fights you were wrong about.

I know everyone always talks about what they right about, but lets be honest and talk about what each of us has been wrong about. Lets list the five biggest fights in the last 5-10 years we were wrong about. (Obviously the first Roy loss to obvious to list so besides that one.)

Then list five fights that were not obvious, that you got right.

    Here are mine:

    Hopkins vs Calzaghe
Thought Hop would win, neither man did much but I really thought that Calzaghe won. Yes it was cheap, but Bernard did less in my opinion while going backwards the whole fight.

    Zab Judah vs Tyzu
Thought Zab was the second coming, later realized he didn't have the mental aspect. Still got mad love for him though.

    Tito vs Hopkins
I didn't overate Tito as much as I underated what Hop could still do. I didn't think at his age he could beat Tito although I thought a prime Hop would have had a great chance. Turns out 36 year old Bernard beats Tito and 27 year old Bernard would have killed him. To big for Tito.

    Roy vs about 3 losses
After his first loss, It still took me a while to adjust to this new Roy. I kept thinking he could train more and get where he needed to be. In reality once you hit a certain age you slow down and you can never get that speed or reflex back.

    De la Hoya vs Myorga
I thought Myorga was gonna KO De la Hoya like he did Vernon Forest. I was wrong.

    Right

Myorga vs Forrest #1-after he knocked out 6 heads lewis, I thought he would surprise Vernon and win in a tough fight
Pac vs De la Hoya-trusted Freddie, thought pac would be to fast
Shane vs Margarito-Thought Shane would be to fast, and to skilled to get beat by a guy with Tony's skill. And have to much heart
Roy vs Ruiz I think Roy was a 2-1 favorite. Most people I talked to said there is no way he would be able to keep Ruiz or any heavy weight off of him. They said any heavy weight would walk right through Roy's power. Roy at one point stood toe to toe and backed Ruiz up. Amazing!!!!!!
Hopkins vs Pavlick I'm a huge Tito fan, so I knew Pavlick's style had no shot.

I know, I can too. Just name the five biggest fights off the top of your head each way that you have been right or wrong in the last 5-10 years.

            Cotto-Margarito
Cotto is 10x the fighter Tony is and I expected that to be easily predictable. I hugely underestimated Margos chin and will

            Calzaghe-Lacy
Lacy looked intimidating Calzaghe looks kinda like a cho-mo, I knew Lacy was one-dimensional but hadnt seen all that much of Calzaghe.

            Wladimir-Brewster
            Obvious reasons.

            ODLH-Mayweather
I thought Oscar had more left in the tank.

            Tito-Mayorga
Tito was a slow starter before the layoff. I thought Mayo would jump on him quick and end it.

Forgot about Bradley vs Witter. I'm friends with a friend of Bradleys and new he was an absolute specimen with rediculous work ethic. When I found out his training methods, I thought that alone would beat Witter and I was right.

                  recently?
Mosley-Margarito: Expected Mosley to make Margarito look bad, did not expect him to win, let alone knock him out
Hopkins-Pavlik: Had no idea Hopkins could still look so young at his age, thought Pavlik would win a close UD
Holyfield-Valuev: Did not expect such an awful, shot version of Holyfield to be robbed.
Jones-Calzaghe: Expected Calzaghe to win a wide UD. Did not expect Calzaghe to hit the canvas.
Lorenzo-Diosando Miranda: I had just just predicted that the fight would go the distance when Lorenzo knocked Miranda out in the 2nd round. never would have thought Lorenzo had that kind of a punch based on his fight with Raul Marquez

In other words, for the most part the old men owned me. I expect them to get old overnight, and instead they show up 5 years younger. sigh.
I do pretty well with my picks otherwise. got every fight on Saturday correct, anyway. and I got De La Hoya-Pacquiao right, which a lot of people considered a mismatch/huge upset.

Hopkins v Pavlik..........i always felt Pavlik was tailor made for Hopkins, but based on his stamina problems in the Calzaghe fight. I could not see him winning. At least i didn't pick him to get KFTO out like some fools

Quintana v Williams 2........ i picked Quintana, but having said that, if the fight were made again id still pick Quintana.
