Calderon unification down the drain, Canchla got KTFO

Giovany “Guerrero Azteca” Segura (20-1-1, 16 KOs) avenged his only loss and claimed the WBA interim mini-flyweight title with a fourth round TKO over reigning champ César Canchila (27-2, 21 KOs) on Saturday night at the Palenque del FEX in Mexicali. Segura dropped Canchila in round one and almost finished him. Canchila was on the deck again in round two. Segura continued to batter Canchila until the bout was stopped at the end of round four. The ending was confusing and controversial as Canchila’s cornerman entered the ring after what sounded like the bell ending the round, but referee Julio Cesar Alvarado still waved off the fight.

Calderon is one unlucky mofo. there goes unification.

That was a wicked ass fight last night.

Calderon should fight Sosa or Solis anyways.

    He'd beat Segura right now.

The end of that fight was a damn disgrace. The bell rang three times and GS stopped him some ten seconds after the round ended.

Oh, no...was Canchila the fighter from the Cotto/Margarito undercard who fought against a smaller Mexican?

If I remember correctly, Canchila got dropped in the second round and then rallied to win a decision...so he went for a rematch and got stopped...? Damn.

It was a hot mess, wasn't it?

I don't think however, Canchila could have turned it around like he did last time, but who knows.

Segura already looked pretty tired but I think staying southpaw, he had Canchila's number.

Caldron can't fight Segura? I doubt Segura wouldn't fight him. Caldron needs to fight Cazares again. The second fight proved nothing stopped to early. The first was hometown reffiing that changed the fight. What time west coast does Tv Azteca boxing come on? I've looked and nothing.

That's him. Shame, because he was showed real heart and looked like something of a diamond in the rough in that first encounter. Segura seemed to punch himself out early, but it's not much of an excuse for being outboxed most of the remainder. I like to have an eye out for switchhitters, but didn't rate Segura too much on the basis of that fight...I'd need to see more.

Calderon made Cazares look a desperate joke in their last fight...the clash of heads was clearly deliberate to my eye, a result of Cazares' frustration at being outboxed and the ineffectiveness of his attempts to bully Calderon. For that bull****, he doesn't deserve the third fight.

                    are you serious?

first fight was close, rematch was justified

but in the second fight calderon was plain schooling cazares all the way until the head clash

come on, its 0-2 to calderon, no need for a rematch
