i agree mijares won the fight i had it 116-112 2 rounds could be called even but there is no way cermeno won 8 rounds like one judge said
but the wba judges are biased towards panamenians and venezuelans
i mean anyone remember the mijares split decision against munoz he also won that fight clearly?
the wba is based out of venezuela after all, its a shame really because his promoters are the one to blame if mijares was with zanfer promotions this wouldnt happen they woulda picked better judges

Alright, the Mijares - Cermeno bout is aired tonight here in Japan. I'll see what the fight is like.

what u mean doubt his faith?
did he stopped believing in god or in himself after the vic defeat?
he fought this fight like he always fights only that cermeņo was a lil better than munoz even so i think the munoz fight was closer than this

It was a joke. The headline reads 'Leaves CRISTIAN in doubt.'

I wonder if there will be a rematch....it'll probably be a while now before Cristian gets another shot.

I just watched the fight. I saw it 115-113 in favor of Mijares. The Japanese TV commentators had it even at 114-114 and 115-113 for Mijares just as I did. 116-112 in favor of Cermeno is almost unthinkable. The WBA interim bantamweight title was on the line, which led me to think that some invisible power sneaked into the judges' scorecards just like the unification with Munoz. Hmm...

To think, Mijares had his share of split decisions. VS Kawashima 1, Navarro, Munoz, and Cermeno. Does he have anything?

I just watched the fight and I had it 116-112 for Mijares. Here's the breakdown.

                      Round 1: 10 - 9 - Mijares
                      Round 2: 10 - 9 - Mijares
                      Round 3: 9 - 10 - Cermeņo
                      Round 4: 9 - 10 - Cermeņo
                      Round 5: 10 - 9 - Mijares
                      Round 6: 9 - 10 - Cermeņo
                      Round 7: 10 - 9 - Mijares
                      Round 8: 9 - 10 - Cermeņo
                      Round 9: 10 - 9 - Mijares
                      Round 10: 10 - 9 - Mijares
                      Round 11: 10 - 9 - Mijares
                      Round 12: 10 - 9 - Mijares

Cermeņo was pushing the action but was also missing a lot. Mijares uncharacteristically was not as accurate as usual but he landed a bundle of counterpunches off Cermeņo's aggresiveness. Note also that a point should have been deducted to Cermeņo for that punch to the kidney. He was throwing a lot of punches to the back of the head too. Nonetheless, Mijares did not stick to his typical style. The one has placed him in the pound for pound rankings in the past. I still think he won the fight based on landing the jab, making Cermeņo miss a lot, and cleaner punching.
