Cermeno Edges Mijares, Leaves Cristian in Doubt

Former super flyweight champion Cristian Mijares (36-5-2, 15 KOs) was edged by the less experienced, Nehomar Cermeno (17-0, 10 KOs), in their bout at the Centennial Coliseum in Torreon, Mexico. Cermano pulled out a split decision with scores of 116-112, 115-113 that went in his direction, and 117-111 for Mijares. Cermeno picked up the WBA interim-bantamweight title with the win. [details]

This fight was a robbery. Mijares won that fight. He wasn't impressive, but he won that fight.

Mijares clearly won the fight IMO but Mijares seems to have strayed from what made him so good in the first place, for some reason it seems that he feels he has to be more aggressive in his fights now and that doesn't work for him. He needs to go back to what he does best.

#1 He won the fight; the judges ******, but #2 it shouldn't have been that close. Mijares is better than this.

Hopefully there will be a rematch because ii thought the nod should of gone to Mijares. Hopefully the WBA will atleast give CM top 5 ranking and they should but you never really know with these guys.

Mijares won this fight easily. I had it 117-111 for him. Those judges must have been paid off.
