I don't hate any fighter, but seeing someone as chinny as Khan being promoted as the "next British superstar" is just annoying. By doing that you can only drive more people away from boxing once the bubble bursts.

Audley was touted as the next star. He just gave up and didnt have the heart.

Khan has been stopped brutally but has shown plenty of heart, desire, discipline and dedication to get back to where he was and beyond that. He illustrated that by taking on and beating a legend who only 3 fights ago was facing the BEST p4p fighter on the planet.

I just don't get the hate. The kid does everything he needs to do yet the vitriol still comes raining down.

Being chnny is not the end of the world. A tight defence can combat being chinny.

Khan is one of the best offensive fighters in the world aswell as one of the fastest....Anyone with those sort of tools at their disposal will get hyped.

That would cut it in some divisions, but the 135 lbs are packed with talent, even a terrible boxer with power, like Valero would need only one punch to end this affair. Guzman would use accuracy and I'm not even mentioning what JMM could do.

135 aint that deep now....Pac gone and JMM is moving up, Campbell has been forced up and Guzman struggles to make the weight too.

Katz and and Casa are both done so that really only leaves Juan Diaz and Edwin Valero as the top fighters who have futures at the weight.

Khan has options at 135, titles are about to become vacant.

its the fact that hes promoted as a superstar - the guy isn't in the same league as someone like gamboa.

hes a really nice kid though and hopefully he will have a career in boxing but hes far from what his promoter and team make him out to be, they imply that hes a legend in the making.

True, but he lost a wide points decision to Manny. "3 fights ago" makes it sound more recent and more significant than it was. Barrera hasn't been very active since 2007. There was a 13 month gap between fighting Pacquiao and fighting Ventura (a guy with 19 losses), and then he faced Rojas (1-7!) who also happened to clash heads with him.

So yeah, you could say he faced the #1 P4P in 2007, but it's not like he was all that competitive, and since then, his competition has been quite diabolical.

Regardless, I wish Khan well in his career.
