Segura Gets Sweet Revenge, Blitzes Canchilla in Four

By Jake Donovan - It was the ending Giovanni Segura, and his handlers, had in mind when he first faced Colombian export Cesar Canchilla last summer. It took two tries to get it right, but there’s no time like the present for the power-punching Californian, who gained revenge with a stoppage of his familiar foe in – or more accurately, after – the fourth round of their scheduled 12-round light flyweight scrap. I guess there goes that bizarre "full champ vs. interim champ" unification that he had going against Calderon.

yeah i didn't understand why the ref remained frozen at the end of the fourth. If that fight took place in the states, you can bet that an immediate protest would've followed the stoppage (and rightfully so).

That said, Segura looked like a man possessed last night. He'll always be who he is, but last night it worked to his advantage whereas he got painfully schooled as a result the first time around

According to the azteca america commentators the confusion with the bell and ref is due to canchillas corner throwing in the towel....we couldnt see that on camera
