Successful and talented people will always be hated by the jealous and uneducated.

Khan has done nothing to deserve the vile hate aimed at him. I was speaking to my hairdresser the other day about Khan and she said she wanted him to get knocked out. When I asked why she said "because he is full of himself". Bull****, the guy is confident that he will be successful and that should be applauded not criticised. Maybe if a tiny fraction of Britain's population had the mentality of Amir Khan, they wouldn't be failures in life who take satisfaction in the thought of a young man not realising his dreams.

There's definitely some racial undercurrents to the Khan hate, but I think its also to do with the fact that he doesn't have a likable personality i.e. he's a bit dull. The fact that he fights nobodies and thinks hes the greatest there ever was gets on peoples nerves too..

There is a difference between saying "I am the greatest" and "I want to be the greatest". Khan has never said he is the greatest.

And Khan's record is better than a lot of other fighters at the same stage of their careers, including Barrera and Juan Diaz.

Steve Bunce said it the other day on his show , it's all about the money . He always says it , boxing's a bussiness not a sport . The good domestic level fighters in the division , Murray for example obviously fancy their chances at beating Khan but can't get a shot at him .

Didn't Khan once say that he thought he could beat Pacquiao?

Anyways, I don't dislike him personally, but I can see why people would. The level of opponents does annoy me slightly, but tonight he's fighting an ATG, albeit a past his best version, but still, at least this is a step up in level for Khan.

"Diaz and Pacquiao are great fighters, but I could beat them both," said Khan.

                    ^^^^^

I don't think there is anything wrong with that. It's not like he said they are bums, and I'm going to destroy them. He only pointed out that he thought he could beat them.

If you are a boxer and you turn around and say "I think they are great fighters and I don't think I can beat them" then you might as well pack your things and go home!!!!
