dawson is already top 10 on some ppl's lists......by beating the #2 and #3 fighters, i think that's a safe assumption.

Agreed. Dawson has shown heart, skill and consistency. He beat Tarver in his last fight...not that it wasn't expected, but he added a name fighter under huis belt.

If he were to beat Hopkins and Calzaghe (if Calzaghe came back), he would definitely (AT THE VERY LEAST) be number 5 or higher.

If he loses to Tarver...that would suck.......a lot.

Dawson's style and speed would really give Hopkins nightmares, it would be another ugly decision that people will argue about forever because Hopkins would maul and clinch and headbutt and do whatever he could to avoid an actual fight. Dawson doesn't match up as well with Calzaghe, who even in his old age is still just as fast and has a much larger skill set. Dawson would struggle to win rounds off Calzaghe, so would Jermain Taylor for that matter.

Same here, Dawson's handspeed could give him fits, dawson is rangy too, good firing shot down the middle, which works against calzaghe.

If its such an easy fight for Joe, why wouldnt he take it?

Oh yeah, he only gets motivated for the kesslers, shot roy jones and lacy's but cant get motivated by the chance to become the undisputed king at light heavy by taking on a hungry young fighter who wants a shot at him.
