Where is your justification for the comments "Boxing is dying"??????

I regularly read on here that 'Boxing is dying ' how exactly do you come to this conclusion?
This is a serious question, as I havent seen a decline in the number of great fights and up and coming prospects.

So please explain, how and why is boxing dying?

Or is it just something MMA fans say to make themselves feel better about their sport?

I think the boxing haters generally come to that conclusion due to the sport not being the centerpiece of American culture anymore. Back when it was America's pastime, when Joe Louis was a hero, when Ali had half the Country against him, when Tyson captivated those who didn't even watch boxing, and more recently, when De La Hoya was more popular than any A lister in Hollywood.

It doesn't transcend itself anymore. There's no denying that.

But it's still as good now as it ever was, in my opinion. Infact, I'd argue that it's better now in terms of talent. Though all the belt really do kinda put a dent in things.

The white and black americans only have a handful of fighters they can associate themselves with. In mma they have tons of fighters they root for and can relate to.

I know that sounds dumb but its the truth.

most people who prefer MMA say boxing is dying

then we have a few huge fights in 2008 and more slated for 2009

2006-07 had the 2 biggest fights(both headlined by mayweather)

and now he's gone boxing is still making mad cash and being a huge even no matter who's fighting.

boxing will be around for the next 3 centuries

            easy
