I think people booed him more due to him not fighting Margarito and choosing Pacman instead. Even he knew it was a loss loss situation. Now he's paying the price for it.

If it were simply about that, then DLH would have getting booed long before 2009. He's been rich and successful for a long, long time.

People were probably just disappointed with the Pacquiao fight and his performance or the fights he's been promoting. One of the fans was screaming at him "I want my money back".

Sports fans are often a cruel bunch anyway.

this is a sad story when a fighter is on top everybody loves them but when they get defeated they all turn their backs on them. true story. joe louis got this. manny pacquiao is next if he losses later this year and goes to politics.

Over 90% of boxing fans are bandwagon jumpers.

i was at the fight and he was booed non stop when they announced he would come out and when he actually came out everyone cheered. one guy kept screaming "theres only oneeee de la hoya" (he was hella drunk)

when he came near the ring people were fighting trying to get near him and a bunch of girls got pictures with him. so i'd say he's still popular.

Sad, but true. I try to always be one of the "other" 10%.

I was never big on Oscar to begin with, but I never hated him either. I'm just indifferent. Though I do wish he'd just retire already and release his firm monopoly on big money fights and big name opponets.
