    Racism in Boxing.

    racist -

    1. a belief or doctrine that inherent differences among the various human races determine cultural or individual achievement, usually involving the idea that one's own race is superior and has the right to rule others.

    2. hatred or intolerance of another race or other races.

    Boxing Related Racist Remarks:

" Puerto Ricans are better boxers than Mexican boxers... And deserves to rule over them!" Racist

"I hate ***ish boxers. I can't stand to see them in the ring with a Persian (?) boxer." Racist and Antisemitic

    stereotype -

    1. Sociology. a simplified and standardized conception or image invested with special meaning and held in common by members of a group: The cowboy and Indian are American stereotypes.

    Boxing Related Stereotypical Remarks:

"Boxers are all the same. They always speak in 3rd person"

    "Mike Tyson bites everybody!"

    prejudice -

    1. an unfavorable opinion or feeling formed beforehand or without knowledge, thought, or reason.

    Boxing Related Prejudice Remarks:

"I like Shane Mosely... but I have yet to see him actually fight."

(2007) "Antonio Margarito is a dirty cheater."

I am sorry I had to make this thread. It was made for Ignorant people. Yes ignorant people need love too. I am tired of hearing people throw around the word "racist" when they have very poor understanding of what the word means. The word racist is often time confused with the words stereotype and prejudice. Although they can be used in combination... Please learn your words people. (=

Oh, does anybody have anymore (not racist) Prejudice and Stereotypical boxing quotes?

its not really racism in boxing, its just a tool for marketing. It adds more intrigue to the sport. Its in Soccer, and many other sports. Not that big of a deal. Fans are the ones that take it out of context, not really the fighters.
