Romanov vs. Angulo For IBF Title, Ali Funeka's Camp Irate

The camp of Ali Funeka is irate after learning that the IBF has approved Yuri Romanov vs. Fernando Angulo for the vacant IBF lightweight title. As reported some time ago on BoxingScene.com, Joan Guzman was originally approved by the IBF to face Romanov for the vacant title, but Guzman was later pulled after the IBF learned that he was still under an administrative suspension by the state of Mississippi [for not making weight/moving forward with last year's bout against Nate Campbell]. IBF better change this. They take out Guzman because his suspension then replace with Angulo despite him not being ineligible. Especially since Funeka had the chance to pull out of the Campbell fight and take on another challenger.

Funeka deserves another crack at the belt, he showed his quality as a fighter against Campbell. This is just another case of a sanctioning body pulling shenanigans.

Good to see Romanov is still getting his shot, and I don't care who his opponent will be.

I have a feeling Angulo will be a little easier than Funeka though.

Guzman will take any of these guys out, just his ****** weight issue coming back to bite him in the arse. But i agree, Funeka should be fighting for the title.

Im realy glad to see Romanov has reamerged and has his title shot, he is very good, i was impressed with his win over thaxton, he is going far is this kid, he would beat funeka i didnt think he looked that good.
