My quick answer is that MAB is one of my all-time favorite fighters so I'm picking him to win. Of course, loyalty to and admiration for a fighter isn't the best recipe for picking a winner. When it's young vs. old in boxing, the advantages are almost always with the younger fighter, so I can see why some people are jumping ship and picking Khan now.
Experience has been brought up a lot in Barrera's favor, but I also think Khan's experience is also key. This is the biggest fight of Khan's life, so he must be feeling pressure. Plus, he no longer feels invincible. In fact, he now knows what it's like to be KO'ed in the first round. He was badly KO'ed. Being a young fighter, that has to mess with his mental going against a legend, even if it's an old legend. Khan knows that old fighters have been winning big as of late. Another shot to his confidence.
(Also, you got to figure Khan would love to avenge Naz's loss. But despite what he might say in public, I think that plants another seed in Khan's head that he might lose.)
On top of all this, he knows a loss is devasting to his career. Is he gonna fight to win or is he gonna fight not to lose? I think he will fight a little too cautious and MAB will jump on him when he can.
There's been a couple of videos posted here, one where MAB said in bad English that he trained in high altitude for 15 days and one where it showed him in the gym and the reporter said he had been training for 2 months. I don't believe MAB would only train for 15 days.
People are saying MAB looked ****ty in his last 2 tune-up fights. Well, I believe he will look better (by how much, still needs to be seen) on Saturday given the excitement and the attention given to this fight. MAB is gonna rise to the occassion. (Plus, that last fight was against literally a last-second opponent. He was going in there against a guy he's never seen before. I'm leaning towards that he wanted to get rounds in, but then the head-butt happened.)
Another reason why I think MAB will win is something he said in one of those interviews. People are saying that Roach is the difference, but MAB said that it takes more than just one fight to change a fighter. So I can see Khan abandoning any improvements he's made in the skills dept. as soon as he gets into any trouble.
I think Khan will bring his bicycle and will plan on striking then running the whole night. But MAB will reach deep into his old bag of tricks (he'll probably rough up Khan with some classic MAB tactics that the ref might not see) and will get his opportunities when he stalks down Khan. Plenty of vicious body shots from MAB. MAB TKO 9th Round.
If I'm right, I promise I won't gloat. If I'm wrong, everybody will laugh at me, but then that's expected here on BS.
