To be serious I give Cotto very little chance against a prime Vargas. Vargas has serious skills and Cotto isn't gonna brawl against the bigger / stronger Vargas or try to outbox Vargas who has a really good defense and can counter just as well as anybody.

Yea Mayorga aint beating Cotto no time soon but your underrating Vargas a bit. Wins over Wright, Quarty, and Raul Marquez show he can be more then capable of hangin with Cotto.

But I still say its a fight you cant really compare, Vargas in no way can fight at 147 and if he did he'd get blasted just by the weight drain alone

Vargas at 147 is a rare sight.

I think it's a really competitive fight. It could go either way, but I would go with Cotto. Jab, combinations, and I don't think Vargas hit all that hard. Or hard enough to really keep Cotto away.

What? At 147? Vargas would die at the weigh-in. He's made 147 one time and that was his 2nd pro fight. If we're talking about prime Vargas he loses due to being massively de-hydrated at the weigh-in (if he even makes the weight of course) Of course 154 is a completely different fight.
