Larry was highly entertaining and he could take a helluva shot.

His jab was great but he had everthing. He had some mean in him too.

LOL, those were nowhere near his best outings . Not necessarily but Holmes-Cooney was ( the build up was something fierce and it was an awesome battle in the ring), and Holmes-Weaver and Holmes-Leon Spinks were good too.
Same with Holmes-Shavers

Holmes-Cobb and Holmes-Ali were annihilations.

Holmes-Cooney was a tentative fight too imo. Weaver fight was a good fight as was Shavers 2. The first Shavers fight was okay, but it was a once sided shut out where Holmes just buttered him up with the jab.

Holmes-Ali were annihilations. Thats a bit strongly worded, he was laying back not trying to hurt Ali.

As a side note, I was actually rooting for Muhammad Ali and Tex Cobb to beat him.

As a little kid, I couldn't understand why neither could win a round, and the killer punch that would change the fight never came.

Every fighter has some dull fights here and there. Holmes was never flashy, but he was fun to watch imo.
