My 5 Fights that HAVE to be made in 2009

#5. Vic Darchinyan vs Nonito Donaire

In 2007's knockout of the year, Donaire upset the odds with a brutal KO victory over the heavy-handed Darchinyan. Since then, Vic put on a career best performance against p4p'er Mijares and a shutout victory over bitter-rival Arce making this proposed rematch one of the hottest fights that can be made in boxing.

#4. Kelly Pavlik vs Arthur Abraham

Middleweight supremacy beckons. Two fighters with knockout power, two fighters who come to fight, two fighters who are regarded as the number 1 and 2 in their division. Expect action from the get go.

#3. Wladimir Klitschko vs David Haye

The biggest heavyweight fight since Vitali vs Lewis in 2003. The consensus #1 Heavyweight vs the undisputed cruiserweight champion, this is THE fight to save the heavyweight division. Will Wladimir get that all important career defining win or will this mark the reign of Haye's heavyweight assault ?

Dont expect this to go the distance...

#2. Floyd Mayweather vs Shane Mosley vs Miguel Cotto

    Any one of these thanks.

#1. Manny Pacquiao vs Juan Manuel Marquez

If ever there was unfinished business between two fighters its here. Arguably the 2 best fighters in the world, and 2 of the best this generation. How often do we get to see that ? A legendary trilogy awaits.

    Good fights - nice choices.

How about posting your picks as well for those fights?

Not a bad list. I could care less about Wlad-Haye at this point tho.

Between the lot of them, that's a lot of big names and egos. To get 11 different huge names like that to agree inside of 2009 is unlikely. Money is the name of the game today and this sounds like a tall order.

I really want to see PWill vs Kirkland or Angulo. I think he should settle at 154 and become a start there, then go up and fight the winner of Pavlik- Abraham, which probably won't take place until 2010.

Pavlik/Abraham should be #1. Nothing else is as attractive as that fight.
