Who were you cheering for in the 3rd Ward-Gatti fight???

After both of these great warriors had had won a fight, who were you cheering for in the 3rd fight? i was always cheering for ward because he was the underdog in thoes fights, gatti was a better boxer than him by a little. but i still really liked gatti to, how couldnt you like both of thoes fighters? they went in the ring 3 times trying to kill each other, see who could take the better beating, but once the fight was over they were truely the best of friends and had nothing but great things to say about each other. they even requested that they share a room at the hospital after the third fight...

I honestly didn't care. I never liked either guy, and I hoped they'd beat each other so severely that they would never fight again and HBO could give me some decent "Boxing After Dark" cards to replace them.

Disagree with me all you want, but I didn't like those fights at all. There were no where near the epic wars I really respect like Ali/Frazier, Barrera/Morales, Corrales/Castillo, Zale/Graziano, and Vazquez/Marquez.

Micky and Arturo were glorified punching bags with no technique.

Could I have climbed in there and done what they did 3 times over again? **** no, I'd be lying if I said I could. So for that alone, they have my respect. But as a fan of the sport for over 13 years, I've come to expect more when it comes to trilogies.

Fair enough, I personally think there have been better trilogies down the years. But saying:

is tactless. Maybe you should watch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LGz-unNi1dU to see that wishing a particular boxer gets a beating so severe that he can never fight again is waaaaay out of line.

so you sat there thru out the trilogy, arms crossed with a disgusted look on your face, brainstorming for other things to do?

im sorry bringer but im sure even the most elite purists of the sport were entertained by the effort those two 'technique-lacking punching bags' gave

I turned them off, believe it or not. It wasn't that it wasn't action packe, or entertaining, it was mildly entertaining. But I didn't like either guy, and it really had no impact on the title scene, or shaking up the division, so I just opted to watch something else instead.
