I don't find funerals that sad in themselves. The person's dead and it's the getting rid of their bodies. It's a ceremony of the burying/cremation of the shell in the box.
My Grandfather had an open casket, since it's what his generation wanted, that pissed me off. When your life is out you body, that's it, game over, nobody should see you that way, you have ceased to be.
I kind of hated most of the funerals I've been too.

my best friend died last year and i didn't even go to his funeral. i couldn't handle seeing his family. met up with the guys later on , got drunk , talked **** , told some funny stories about him , told some war stories about him , plotted revenge , poured some beer.......
most of my friends handled it the same way.
men are suppose to be there to comfort the women in times like this.
how is the women gonna cry on your shoulders when you're weeping like a baby yourself?
People handle things differently; if that was me i'd be in tears if my best friend died and would have definetly gone to the funeral.

who the **** would cry over a boxer?
you don't even know them personally.
unless you're part of his entourage or something and know the guy personally.

i doubt you'd cry over your favorite boxer.
the closest i came to crying over a boxer was ali during the olympic games.
seeing him shake while holding the torch almost made me tear up because of how great the man/moment is/was.
i doubt i'd cry if ali died though.

People like Funerals, as their time to cry 'properly': Their time to sit in a cold place of 'God' and cry.
I just think most people should do it differently.
Have the Wife and kids, see him/her committed to the earth.
Then later have a party in rememberance.

I think I've been hardened by all the defeats I've seen my favorites take over the years. I pity some of these Floyd/Joe fans lol. Anyway, I came pretty close to crying when Jose Louis Lopez dropped Ike Quartey late in their fight.
