Khaosai Galaxy higher than Tommy Hearns in RING's greatest fighters

I really wasn't getting any responses over at BOXING HISTORY since the are so few who were browsing that part of boxingscene's forums...so I'll just post it here as well...

Khaosai Galaxy, the Thai legend was listed by the RING several notches higher than Tommy Hearns in their list of greatest fighters in the last 80 years... Do you agree with this? On what merit did the guys from RING based their assesment that yes, the Thai legend is superior to the Hitman P4P?

There is only way to settle this: A face-to-face matchup.

I'm not really an expert on Galaxy's career, though some experts are really high on him.

I think Hearns is a great, but people usually overrate his greatness. Am I making any sense?

Bottom line, I don't find it so incredible.

The manner in which Hearns won and lost his fights often lead some time overrate him.

Hearns was spectacular when he came out on top, but he was clearly beneath those who were just a step above him. Leonard, Hagler, Barkley; When he lost, he lost.

Hearns was very exciting and always had his moments in every fight but you're bound to drop a few slots when you got laid out.

Still his resume', if you look past the KO losses, was truly something to behold.

Tommy defeated 3 current members of the IBHOF (Cuevas, Duran, Benitez), should have had a 4th on there (Leonard II), and may have a 5th one day (if Hill gets inducted).

Hearns is regarded very highly because of his skill set and because of the way he fought. He was part of two of the all-time classic fights in boxing history (Hagler, Leonard I). Certainly he's one of the 10-15 best Welterweights of all-time. One of the 5 or so best Light Middleweights of all-time as well.

I perfectly see your point. He also has losses. I don't care about the losses though.

What bothers me is that his losses show he had a few very clear shortcomings. KG was a more rounded fighter.
