    Boxing Experts prediction thread!

i think it's a good material in this thread if we start naming these experts
and their prediction one by one..

let's start with the ring magazine issue before the dream match
which i believed has 18-2 people who called it for ODLH..

you can add some other scribes you know who called it for the golden boy

    1. DAVID DIAZ (Former WBC Lightweight Titleholder) for DE LA HOYA

I honestly think De La Hoya should win. Oscars Size, height and weight will make the difference. I think Oscar will easily beat Manny by decision. - LOL, SORRY DAVID! YOU EVEN ATTENDED MANNY'S BDAY PARTY. WHAT GUTS!

    2. Jim Strickland (David Diaz Trainer) for PACQUIAO

I tend to favor Manny. He has faster hands and has a good chance to absorb a punch. Oscar making 147 will be a factor. I see Manny winning by decision. - CONG****, SMART JIM!

    3. KEVIN MITCHELL (British Boxing Writer) for DE LA HOYA

Manny has his eye in the exit door and a career in politics and this could be one mistake. This time the disparity in size is considerable. I think De la Hoya will have too much for Pacquiao, stopping him in the ninth. - CONDOLENCES, HEHEHE!

    4. DAN RAFAEL (ESPN.com boxing writer) for DE LA HOYA

At the end I do see Oscar winning the fight, stopping him late. Ultimately the punching power will be the difference. - WHERE'S THE POWER?

    5. ANDRE BERTO (Welterweight Contender) for DE LA HOYA

Oscar may be a little too big for Pacquiao, all the odds are against Manny. I have to go with Oscar by decision but I won't rule out that Manny could steal the show. - OK, QUITE UNSURE.

    6. BRIAN KENNY (ESPN's friday nights fight Host) for DE LA HOYA

I just cant see Manny with that size beating a guy so much bigger who can really box. My most likely scenario is Oscar keeping Manny at the end of his jab. I see Oscar winning by decision. - WHERE'S THE JAB?

    7. JOHNNY FALGOUST (USA Today Boxing Writer) for DE LA HOYA

I'm really torn with this fight because all it could take is one big punch to turn the tide.. It's an easy fight for DeLa Hoya and Pacquiao has a tendency to come in with his chin straight up. Dela Hoya by late round stoppage. Dela Hoya's one punch can be more damaging than 4 or 5 Pacquiao's punches together. - EASY FIGHT? POWERFUL ONE PUNCH?

    8. KENDALLl HOLT (Junior Welterweight Contender) for DE LA HOYA

De La Hoya is just too big and too powerful for him and he'll end up stopping him. I think it could go around 8 rounds. De La Hoya will eventually get to him. I see no way Manny can win this fight. I don’t see Manny even winning a single round. - MANNY NOT WINNING A SINGLE ROUND?

    9. TONY MORGAN (Andre Berto's Trainer) for DE LA HOYA

Manny is just too small for DeLa Hoya. Manny is awkward and Strong but Oscar will pick away with the jab. Oscar will frustrate Manny. Oscar will win by decision. - WHERE'S THE JAB?

    10. PAULIE MALINAGGI (Junior Welterweight Contender) for DE LA HOYA

If you’re an ant, you cant attack a mountain. I think there's no way a small junior lightweight fights a large welterweight. You can't mess with nature; I see this ending in 4 or 5 rounds for Oscar. - MANNY JUST MESSED WITH NATURE, IT WAS A MIRACLE!

    11. STEVE FARNHOOD (ShoBox Analyst) for DE LA HOYA

I think Oscar will win, he remains quick for his size and age. Pacquiao's punching power won't have an effect against Oscar. I see Oscar winning by decision. - QUICK OSCAR? HE WAS QUICK TO QUIT!

    12. AL BERNSTEIN (Showtime Boxing Analyst) for DE LA HOYA

The bottom line is if Oscar can hit with something really solid, he can hurt him and win the fight. If someone put a gun to my head, I'd say DeLa Hoya, but in no way, shape, or form is this fight a lock. - SORRY AL. YOU'RE WRONG.

    13. CLAUDE ABRAHAM (British Boxing News Editor) for DE LA HOYA

If De La Hoya below par could push Floyd Mayweather close, then how is Pacquiao, who barely established superiority against Marquez in two fights, going to defeat him? My feeling is De La Hoya will probably stop him. - NOW YOU MEAN PACQUIAO IS BETTER THAN FLOYD!

    14. DARIUS ORTIZ (ESPN.com Boxing Editor) for DE LA HOYA

Pacman will be chomping off more than he can chew against the Larger Golden Boy. De LaHoya's underestimated speed will and pinpoint accurate left hook will spell 'game over' for the pacman. Its been a while since we've used 'Pacquiao' and 'loses' together in the same sentence, but im confidence DeLaHoya will climb out the ring the winner come Dec.6.
    - I THINK YOU'RE NOT CONFIDENT NOW, LOL!

    15. JUAN DIAZ (Lightweight Contender) for DE LA HOYA

I got Oscar because he is the more skilled out of the two fighters. Many is too small for Oscar. The first three rounds might be competitive but if Oscar pushes his weight around, I doubt it will be a fight. - OSCAR WAS OUTSKILLED BY MANNY.

    16. ENZO CALZAGHE (Trainer of Joe Calzaghe) for DE LA HOYA

I think its circus fight. I'd be shock if Oscar couldn’t beat Pacquiao. He's more powerful and certainly fast enough. I expect Oscar to win by comfortable decision. - WELL, IT BECAME THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH!

    17. TED LERNER (The Ring's Phils. Correspondent) for DE LA HOYA

None of it makes logical sense. And that’s the X-factor for this fight. Oscar will find he's enjoying having his way with a naturally smaller Pacquiao, pacman's indomitable spirit will keep him in it but Oscar will eventually take over and dominate. DeLaHoya by TKO stoppage in the ninth. - OK, JOIN HERMIE RIVERA'S CLUB, TED!

    18. CARLOS CABAN (ESPNdeportes.com Senior Director) for DE LA HOYA

One weapon of annihilating the speed in Pacuiao's punches is Oscar's left hook. And it only needs to land once. It should be over in eight rounds. - SORRY, IT NEVER LANDED.

    19. Timothy Bradley (WBC Junior Welterweight Titleholder) for PACQUIAO

DeLaHoya isn't what he used to be. I think Pacquiao will win by decision. I just know that Pacquiao wont stay in front of DeLaHoya. Oscar is doing this for the fans, because he certainly doesn’t need the money. I don’t know if his heart is as much into this. - CONG****! VERY ACCURATE, VERY SMART!

    20. ALTON MERKERSON (Trainer of Roy Jones Jr.) for DE LA HOYA

I think Pacquiao is a very strong guy who can punch, but he's too one dimensional for someone like Oscar. Oscar will work angles and he has great ring generalship. I see Oscar winning by decision. - ONE-DIMENSIONAL AGAIN? STILL NOT CONVINCED?

FINAL TALLY: De La Hoya 18, Pacquiao 2

    Nice one.

    "Experts"... LOL.

It didn't need an expert to see that Pac was gonna whip his ass. Those guys are clueless.

I'll keep and eye on Jim Strickland and Tim Bradley's future predictions, btw. Props to them.
