Though I am not ruling Hatton out... far from it, he is fighting at his most comfortable weight class... a weight class which he is unbeaten in and has dominated for quite a while, so I am not ruling out a Hatton win far from it.

by no means am i counting hatton out....he's a formidable opponent that can pose some problems

however, i just dont see hatton being able to cope with the handspeed and head movement of pacquiao...its bad enough that he's a southpaw but he has all these other intangibles going against him...

also, im sure PAC has a fistic response to all those (kellerman included) that have questioned his position as the #1 guy in boxing....watching his interviews on filipino shows, that **** means alot to him

I have Pac winning by late T/KO. Always have, and nothing has changed since the fight was first mentioned.

By no means would I count Hatton out (I'll let the ref do that... hehe) but I can't help but see problems for him. He has two options: box, or play rough. Two things here... if he boxes he gets laced by Pac's superior speed and skill. If he plays rough he better pray the ref ain't strict. If the ref allows him to fight like he did in the Tszyu fight, he loses all the respect I have for him. If the ref doesn't take any ****, Hatton's gonna get points deducted.

What other options does he have?

If he wins without being a total dirty bastard I'll give him the respect he deserves.

Hatton is gonna shock a lot of people on May 2nd i think, just as Pacquiao shocked a lot of people when he beat DLH - although thats not that much of a shock now. Hattons gonna be much quicker and more technically sound than most people are expecting. Those thinking Hatton is just gonna hug all night are just ****** - in his last fight he didnt hug at all, and has stated on numerous occasions thats the old ricky hatton, and is now working with Floyd Snr to improve his boxing abilities. There will be moments when he hugs obviously, but it will not be the main side of his game in this fight.
Also Hatton is gonna be 154 on the night - the heaviest opponent Pac will have faced - so the power will be coming from Hatton. Where as Hatton has fought much bigger guys than Pacquiao and not been KO'd.
With Floyd Snr in his corner, his defence and movement will be much tighter and more effective, so you can bet that Hatton will be able to deal with Pacquiaos offence much better than the old Ricky Hatton.
All these factors, to me, add up to a Hatton KO before 9. If Pacquiao can withstand Hattons power though, and it goes the distance, I think Pac will win by UD. But Pac has yet to be tested at higher weights, and has not faced someone as big and powerful as Hatton, so we will have to wait and see on the night.

I believe hatton to win by ko he will be too strong but i think that it will be a messy fight. plus with hatton at 5.50 odds to beat manny by ko i think i will just have to put some dough down

I can see how both guys can win but Pac should be favored. I think too many people feel Hatton will be a walk in the park for Pac but I think it will be a war. Though I feel Pac will win I would place a bet on Hatton if the odds were right because he is a live underdog.

Hatton by KO/TKO in or before round 8.

I've given my reasons in other threads so wont go into detail again, but Hatton will be too strong IMO.

I was picking Pac.... but I just watched Hatton-PBF again last night in HD (thanks to this awesome site!) and I was surprised with Hatton's speed, he is pretty fast both hands and feet. Not only that but although Hatton was competitive early on he was making mistakes but these mistakes should be easy to correct. He was coming straight in and not using head movement at all. Cortez was ****ing things up alot as well always breaking them.

Anyways with his natural speed and size/strength and also with Mayweather SR trainning him and working on his head movement, Im actually beginning to lead towards Hatton winning this fight.

I dont think Pac has the inside game to deal with Hatton. Pac will want his space to box and move, but even PBF had problems with Hatton cause he comes forward so fast he didnt have time to get room to catch him coming in. PBF had a good inside game though, something Pac doesnt have. I could see Hatton stopping Pac now.
