Kirkland is fun to watch, exciting; good for the sport. Physically, he's a gifted athlete, a raw talent.

For the long term, better defense will serve him more than training to take punches.

He needs to become a more complete fighter. Too many times I saw Kirkland allowing Julio to turn him and move away from the ropes. And Julio's footwork is not his strength.

I don't think Julio is accustomed to moving so much. He needs to plant and sit down on his punches to hurt people.

Paul Williams can hurt you anytime, moving or stationary. He would school the current Kirkland, just like (get ready for it!) how Joe schooled Lacy. (I'm not a Calzaghe fan).

I'm not believing the hype on Kirkland.

Kirkland is definitely exciting to watch. Julio was pissing me off a bit with the clinching, but what else was he supposed to do? I'm a big fan of Kirkland, but he definitely seems vulnerable. He doesn't have great head movement, and he should use his jab more. Also he was kind of chasing Julio around. He should've cut the ring off better. He's a beast though, and whatever flaws he has, especially defensively, he can improve. I can't wait to watch him fight in the future.

A round or two of devastating bodyshots will do that to you.

Julio was in shape...much better shape than Angulo's last opponent.

I hate hearing Kirkland speak.... He sounds like Mike Tyson's ******ed son.
