At what moment did you become a boxing fan?

I remember sitting in the living room on the pc with my dad on the couch, when he told me to watch the t.v for a minute.

I saw this very clip of Muhummad Ali and was awestruck. I remember saying 'that's unreal'. My dad was delighted- it turns out my brother had said the exact same thing.

After that, I learned everything that I could about Ali, and gradually, over time, pieced together the tapestry of boxing history by branching out through the fighters that he fought.

So how bout it? Anyone else have any similar stories? What lured you to the sweet science?

p.s if anyone could tell me how to embed these bastard links it would be appreciated.

J.C. Chavez as a shorty but of course being too young I didn't truly appreciate him.

When Fernando Vargas burst onto the scene he got me back into the game. His style, look, and emotion got me hooked. You also identify with a certain fighter Vargas like myself are the same age, Mexican and came from broken homes. Alot people identify with a certain fighter and they instantly get hooked!

I was always a casual boxing fan, although watching Floyd brutalizing Gatti the way he did, just brought my fascination to the sport to another level.

First fight I remember is Tyson vs Holyfield. I became a fan since then.

I watched Wladimir Klitschko impressively blast out an opponent in the second round (I think it was Jackson or Bostice) and immediately became a fan.

When I was really little and still into WWF wrestling my dad pretty much said "that **** is ******/fake." and he flipped on boxing. The first fighters I knew were Ali, Tyson and Ray Leonard

Benn-Watson-Eubank days. Tyson and his destructive style and brooding presence was an early memory too. He just seemed so terrifying when I was young.

The Benn-Eubank fights were events in England, people still remember them now.

for me, my interest in Boxing struck boner status because of a combination of three things:

                    1. The Japanese anime/manga TV series "Hajime no Ippo" (Fighting Spirit in U.S.).
                    2. Pacquiao defeating Morales in their 2nd fight.
                    3. Addicted to Fight Night Round 3

All 3 of those things came into play during the start of 2006. Ever since then, I've been hooked on this sport.
