Oh I agree but I don't think he is beyond redemption especially in this day and age of wishy washy fans who hate a guy one min and then love him the next.

That may or may not be true in this fight, but the point is that's the first thing that came to my mind. People will question every win this guy has ever had. That is his legacy.
Even Martinez admitted that he lost fairly because of inexperience. That fight was almost eight years ago and this **** is really weak.

What about it? It was a very close fight that was stopped because of cuts?

I had Margarito ahead the time the stoppage came. Santos also butted the **** out of Margarito.

And what does that have to do with alleged illegal handwraps?

Yeah, if by ***** slapped you mean being butted and losing a hometown decision.

I really do think the hand wraps scandal will be his enduring legacy. Perhaps it's unfair, but we're talking about sports fans, they don't care about fair.

Truth is, we don't know when Margarito began using loaded wraps and we likely never will. That doubt will forever live in the fans conscious, tainting the Cotto fight, which was his crowning achievement that justified the aura that has defined him.

If you assume that he only used the loaded wraps after the Paul Williams fight, you still get a pretty average career. What made him "special" was beating Cotto and this fight's proximity to the Mosley fight will leave most fans to question the validity of it.

Margie never was special.....one fight doesn't make a career

He's certainly not a HOF, even before the wrap scandal
