Everyone thought Jones would walk over Tarver. It makes no difference how you think the fight would play out. You dont know untill they match up in the ring.
didnt hurt gatti ... watch it again ... gatti was punished and hurt without a doubt

First off lets rethink your statement about money in these trying ecoomic times. PBF does not have to make 20 million to get any "real" money especially when floyd would still make 8 million at least fighting JMM.
Seriously this part I could care less about because it seems a little silly to entertain PBF's gripes about not getting payed enough when Americans like me and you are watching their jobs get thrown away like yesterdays garbage.
It's laughable that 8Million$ does nothing for Floyd.
Legacy wise JMM would be one of Floyd's top 3 fights all time and other than Oscar and Ricky I don't see anyone else on Floyd's resume that can match or eclipse JMM stature in the sport. So I think JMM would be a great challange for Floyd especially since this is a guy who can adjust his tactics at the drop of a hat and has proven that he can make things very difficult for anyone.

like larry's saying it doesnt do much for legacy ot money ... gonna make more people hate him if anything ... really its not a good move imo ... for either jmm or pbf.
btw whike i dont consider hatton elite ... i do think he would pose a problem for basically all fighters.
I think stylistically Marquez has the skillset to overcome the disparity in weight. Where as the WW like Cotto etc maybe bigger and stronger, but they are not necessarily better fighters. They would not pose the same issues for Floyd as Marquez would even with their extra size/strength.
Duran and Leonard both gave Hagler more trouble than most of the natural MW Hagler fought. Why? because they are elite fighters with skills to overcome the weight disparity. Hagler fought big men with less skill who did'nt come no where close to beating him.
Even to this day Hagler's best wins are against smaller men. Duran's career ended after 154lbs too, but Hagler still gets mad props for beating Hearns,Duran.

It'd be a good fight, and it would add to his legacy... Juan Manuel Marquez is pound-for-pound top 2 and possible future ATG status
Would be a farce if it happened above 140 though
I would rather see Floyd vs. Pacquiao and Floyd vs. Cotto however
