Mijares Primed, Ready To Take The Title From Cermeno

Less than a year ago, former super flyweight champion Cristian Mijares (36-4-2, 15KOs) was considered one of the best pound for pound fighters in the world. Then was dominated and knocked out by Vic Darchinyan in nine rounds last November. After rethinking his career, Mijares moves up in weight and challenges unbeaten Nehomar Cermeno (16-0, 10KOs) for the interim-WBA bantamweight title on March 14 in Auditorio Centenario in Coahuila de Zaragoza, Mexico. Mijares' ring return is a good news, but I'm wondering why the WBA interim title is on the line... As far as I know, there is nothing physically wrong about full champion Moreno. Considering how many interim world titles are being made as we speak, the WBA is starting down the road for corruption. Or it already has.

Either way, I will be rooting for Mijares. If he wins this time and successfully unifies with Moreno, then I want to see a Hasegawa - Mijares clash. The winner will face Darchinyan for undisputed Bantamweight surpremacy. Too good a scenario to be realized though.

Mijares needs to win this match after that poor showing against Darchinyan. A loss will be damaging to any chance of avenging that loss to Vic.

Mijares told the press that there will be no reason for a rematch with Vick before their fight because he would dominate Vic so badly that a rematch would never happen; im glad he lost and now is begging for a rematch and eating his own words!!!!

            this is a risky fight
cermeņo is ranked by the wba and its undefeated
he shoulda fought the thai grandpa now instead
            still mijares should win
