yes i'm serious. has paquiao actually done that much more than ricky?
i am in no way a hatton fan to be honest i kinda dislike him and his style of fighting but i'm curious as to why can't he be considerd p4p # 1 if he has only lost to floyd mayweather where as manny has a couple of losses and drawsComment

he is not p4p #1 even if he totally dominates pac ... anyone who puts him as such is an idiot ...Comment

Really though, why wouldnt he be #1? The only reason why he wouldnt be #1 is because boxing is biased towards hispanincs. All they do is fight eachother over and over again and the public rewards all of them. Hatton's resume would be as good as anyone. Who would you rank over him? No way Im putting Cotto over him after being KO by Margarito. The gloves may have been loaded but there just hasnt been enough time since then to totally discredit the win. Margarito cant be over him. The only WW is Shane and most didnt have Shane even in the top 10 until he beat Margarito who everyone now says never deserved to be there.
JMM already basicaly lost twice to Pac if the judges scored it right. You could say that you think JMM won both times but the judges gave it to Pac and Hatton just beat Pac anyways. Youre going to rank JMM over Hatton because he's 0-1-1 against a guy that Hatton just beat or because he has wins over an older Casamayor, MAB, or a guy in Diaz who just lost 2 fights ago to Campbell and his only win since then came against Katsidis who was just KO by Casamayor. Youre going to put Raffy or Izzy over him because they fight eachother over and over again? Basically Im saying that its not fair and Im not even a Hatton fan.
He has as much right to the P4P crown as anyone if he wins. He has the win over Tszyu, Castillo, a very good Collazo, Urango, and he beat Malingagg even easier then Cotto did. Hopkins recently just lost to Calzaghe in a crappy performance and not long ago lost twice to Taylor. Pavlik lost to Hopkins, and so on. Im not saying Hatton should be #1 but you cant totally crap on him and say he's not without anything to back it up. I havent seen anyone that I would put clearly over him if he were to beat Pac, plain & simpleComment

Here is why Hatton wouldn't be number one. First of all, it doesn't work that way.
Realistically, if you think that he's number one, you have to put him above Mosley and Cotto. However, you don't REALLY have to go p4p for those fights. They could fight eachother IN REALITY, without the feeling of it being a mismatch in ANY BIG way. Hatton would be the smaller guy, however all are pretty close. Yet, I don't think most would pick Hatton over Mosley or Cotto.
Furthermore, Ricky Hatton has wins over a SLIGHTLY FADED Kostya Tszyu, Paulie Malignaggi, and Manny Pacquiao. If you want to count Castillo.... you do that.
Mosley, for example... has Margarito and fought CLOSE with Cotto. And that's out of his last three fights. He did also KO Mayorga, regardless of where he is.
Out of his last 6 fights, he's gone 5-1, with 4 stoppages. He's also never been stopped. Vargas twice, Collazo, Cotto (the only loss out of this group), Mayorga and then Margarito. Out of these guys, three are still ranked in the top of their divisions. Two were p4p when they fought Mosley and he split it with them.
So, realistically, he doesn't even beat Mosley. You could use the arguement that Mosley has less time left. But, Hatton himself has said that he only has a few fights left. And Mosley isn't even number one to me.Comment
