He needed big wins in convincing matter to get him back in the mix and was on a roll. Johnson, Cintron, Cotto all by KO. Then suddenly the wraps are applied 'properly' and he looks helpless against Mosely. Mosely is good but he's not so good as too make Margarito look like a C-rated fighter. I like Margarito more than Mayorga, but Mayorga looked better against Mosely. Either Cotto damaged Margarito more than people thought in their fight or Margarito lost all confidence after being exposed.
I hear you but Antonio Margarito has always been a C rated fighter. He has no defining skill in the ring, all he does is come forward with NO defense and pressures his opponents. A gifted or exceptional boxer that can fight technical & not play into Margarito's hands can beat him (Paul Williams) You might have a point in regards to him wrapping his hands after Williams but you have to admit that the few times Margarito connected on Williams towards the end he hurt him but Williams stayed on his game plan and just out boxed him.

My point is Margarito did some damage to Paul so if he didn't have the wraps on at that time like your implying that means he still has some power in his hands with or without the alleged Plaster. Cotto didn't take anything away from Marg's, I just think Mosley had a good trainer & a GREAT game plan to beat Margarito. I think Mosley just needed a trainer like ****m to keep Shane disciplined in the ring because Jack wasn't doing it NO more.

Mosley kept it in the middle and smothered Margarito and frustrated him, sitting down on his punches to put more emphasis on them when they connected. Miguel Cotto stayed moving consistently and kept giving Margarito range and time to recover from his power shots by letting Margarito jog towards him. Also Cotto stayed on the ropes too often and too much.

Most of FLoyds stans here hate Cotto to death because, he have the style, that will give FLoyd lost of problems.

I respect what you said, I tought differently about you. But I guess your not a bad poster at all.

i tought your were another Flawless or Horus, i made a mistake.

Now calm down highspeed, dont get offended by people on a keyboard!!!!!!!!
Listen man, I like a lot of fighters but Floyd Mayweather Jr is my favorite because the guy is clearly very talented & I respect how he fights in the ring when he was fighting but now he is retired so I would like to move on. Miguel Cotto is good but I can't fully support a guy as my favorite if I see there is more developing for him to do & seeing how often he gets hit is very entertaining for guys who love boxing like us but sooner or later that style of fighting catches up to you and it did.

I am actually very pleased to hear Cotto taking on Clottey and give him points for making that choice because he didn't let the hard core boxing fans down by picking Cintron or Berto but an avoided, dangerous guy like Clottey. No worries man, I ain't tripping but when something don't sit well with me I'm going to address it.

I agree. I had posted earlier that Mosely was more confident and prepared to fight Margarito. Mosely was just perfect in the match and obviously saw and attacked all of Margarito's flaws. I'm aware that Margarito hurt P. Will in their fight and am not discrediting Margarito's ability to hurt opponents since he had many KO wins before these fights.

I like Mayweather also but was just so bummed when he retired because I felt robbed of so many matches that he could have still put on against some top competition. As far as your statement about Cotto getting hit so often. I kinda disagree. He doesn't get hit anywhere as much as many other boxers like Margarito for instance. Pacman has been in so many wars and been beaten equally in a lot of them but he still looks amazing in the ring. Same can be said for JMM.

                • This is why Cotto will go down as one of the greatest Welterweights of all-time. He does what the fighters of the glory days did by taking on the top tier; all of them. He's going to get ****** up here and then, but he'll have more wins than losses against the best, and he may even get revenge on those who catch him.

He's a warrior, and he's getting more talented with every fight. Even against the "Bricks from Mexico", he put on an absolute clinic until the plaster closed his nose.

Well I think that has more to do with Bob Arum but at the end of the day, Cotto has to say yes or no and he gets props for saying yes.

If you asked me who would win a year ago I would've said Cotto without blinking. But a lot's changed since then. I'm not sure if he has the same kind of confidence in himself that he did pre-Margarito. I remember Roberto Duran, when asked his thoughts on Felix Trinidad's first fight back since the Hopkins fight (a fight Tito won with one chilling right in the fourth) saying that he didn't have the same "look in his eye." I wonder how Cotto will react against a hungry fighter who's brimming with more confidence than ever and has finally gotten the opportunity he wanted.
