I've never seen Clottey in a situation where he has to pick up the pace. He's always been a pretty straight forward, what you see is what you get type fighter, but he's good! Cotto though IMO is just a step above him overall. Cotto's faced a lot of adversity and considering Cotto's already fought most of the tops in the division, he's not going to be a walk in the park for Clottey by any means, but the same can be said about Cotto.

Cotto's jab, body attack, and overall movement around the ring is going to either make Clottey get on the offensive and try to trade with Cotto (which may not be a smart thing for either guy) or he's going to be taking a lot of shots on or through his guard if he gets on the defensive.

It's a great fight, but Cotto IMO has the edge and I believe he'll win.
I agree, neither man are a walk in the park, however I think Clottey will be Cotto's second biggest test aside of Tony. I really don't see a KO in this fight, unless Clottey lands something really hard on Cotto, and I'm not talking about Cotto's chin just the fact like you said their styles won't be matched as pure aggression, they are both boxers so it won't be a brawl. I don't know how's Clottey chin since he's got that tight defense but we know his body can hold up, Cotto might just tag the body and mix it up to the head. Has Clottey ever been dropped before?

I think if Clottey wins, it'll be by a KO, if Cotto wins, it'll be by a decision.

Clottey is going to be the bigger man, with the longer reach, and hes going to bring the pressure! He knows you dont beat Cotto by lettim him go to his pace and counter him, hes going to hit im a lot and stay on his chest, making him go backwards so he cant really punch with all his power.

Problem with that logic is Clottey doesn't fight with the type of pressure to back Cotto up. Once Clottey sees Cotto going on the offensive he's gonna shell up, that's just how he fights. Clottey counter really well too, but against guys who just sit there in the pocket, which Cotto won't do either.

Clottey has to up his punch rate heavily against Cotto is he wants to win.

Question is, can Cotto's stamina hold up? the blueprint to beat Cotto has already been drawn by Margarito, can Clottey examine it and perform it accordingly? that's yet to be answered.

History has shown us that Clottey can't fight that way....It's also shown us that Clottey gasses as well.

i think hes going to tweak himself for Cotto, and fight against him more like when he fought Corrales
