You guys don't need to debate this, unless you've got a lot of free time and are just trying to get a rise out of people, but it wasn't "in the media" it is fact - hamed paid "step aside" money to Marquez to not have to face him.


And when Marquez's mandatory came due again, Hamed again went to the WBO and gave a list of fighters he wanted to face, a list that did not include Marquez, but did have a guy who had more losses than wins.

In three different meetings, at three different times, Hamed offered step aside money.

These weren't "accusations by the press" it was general knowledge supplied by HBO (who held his contract and wanted the Marquez bout)and the WBO.
