Ricky Hatton feels that UK lightweight star Amir Khan could be getting rushed into big fights because of the big bucks that will result from pay-per-view. Khan faces former three-division champion Marco Antonio Barrera on March 14 at the MEN Arena in Manchester. It marks the third time that Khan will appear on UK-based pay-per-view television. The first time, last September, he was knocked out in 54 seconds by Colombian puncher Breidis Prescott. [details]

Did you even read the article? Hatton didnt make a prediction. Dont get your panties in a twist just yet, the title is a bit misleading.Comment

Wanna put all youre points on that with me?Comment

Yeah, more people should see the fight and i agree with Hatton the knockout was brutal, out before he hit the floor and landed face first.
Moore finally challenges for the european title tommorrow night. Can't wait.Comment

Hatton is sitting on the fence (big surprise given his relationship with Barrera and nationality), unlike a great deal of the rest of the British boxing world. McGuigan is the only one I recall stating unambiguously that Barrera will most likely win.Comment

I do think barrera will win because he is bound to catch amir on the chin. Once he does even if it's later in the fight, he'll finish him! But, if khan managed to pull it off, I hope he gets the credit he deserves since nearly everyone is picking against him.Comment

disagree totally, khan can beat MAB because of the size difference, he will have a tight defense and will keep jabbing and become a moving target, his stamina and fitness levels surpass pacmans according to the same conditioning coach so he could give MAB serious target problems and his speed his unrealComment

BTW, I completely agree with Hatton that Khan is being moved up too quickly (after facing far too many bums early on who didn't test him at all). I do think he can get past Barrera provided he sticks to Roach's gameplan, although it will be a stern test; and I have no problem with him taking this fight. But after this one I think he needs to fight at least 2-3 fringe contenders who can test him before even thinking about a world title fight, and unfortunately that doesn't seem to be the way Warren is thinking.Last edited by Dave Rado; 03-05-2009, 11:36 AM.Comment
