Pacquiao vs. Cotto Appears To Still Be Arum's Plan

It appears that WBO welterweight champion Miguel Cotto is still high on the list of possible post-May opponents for Manny Pacquiao. Top Rank head Bob Arum recently told ABS CBN that he was looking at the possible bout between Pacquiao and Cotto - if Manny beats Ricky Hatton on May 2 and Cotto wins his next fight on June 13. Top Rank promotes both fighters. Arum believes a Pacquiao-Cotto fight will be an even bigger event than Pacquiao against Floyd Mayweather Jr. [details]

I'm sure I saw the same comment from Arum before. Has this already been reported a while back? Seems like ages ago, come to think of it.

Yea, on a conference call pre-Cotto/Jennings. It's like the exact quote actually haha. I think Arum reitterated it recently at a Pac/Hatton Presser recently though.

              Can Cotto still make 140?

I don't think Cotto-Pacquiao would be bigger then Mayweather-Pacquiao (just my opinion).

Top Rank would make a lot of money though.

Sounds good, Cotto beats a top WW in june 13 and the he will get his big money fight, sounds about right. I hope he fights Clottey in June and Pacquaio in october, and then Mosley in February 2010. I can live with that, 3 very good fights in row, pending Cotto winning. Sounds about right.

If Cotto manages to win them 3 hell be P4P top 3 for sure, wich I think he will.

About Cotto Pac, I think Pac can do well till Cotto adjusts to his speed and gets his timming, then it will be 1 sided, beat down, Cotto KO9!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
