Khan vs Barrera - Who Wins?

Khan vs Barrera - Who Wins?

I'm going to the fight for the sole purpose of seeing Barrera live before he retires.

    I think this is a pretty easy fight for him . . . .

Surely Khan can't stay away from him for the whole fight. As soon as Barrera lands its over!

Barrera is not a natural lightweight, he has no real power at that weight. Khan got up after two brutal shots from Prescott, so to say it's all over after a much smaller guy like Barrera hits him is foolish.

For Barrera to win he will need to pressure Khan and force him into making mistakes, and work his vulnerable chin. It's vulnerable but not a given that Barrera has the power to straight KO him. If Barrera can win rounds through clever boxing and maybe score a knockdown, he has a very good chance. But he has to use all his experience, and keep the fight in the centre of the ring. If he strays upon the ropes too often, he will come under constant pressure.

For Khan to win, he has to keep a tight defence, use his movement to keep out of range, and use his jab to set up his attacks. He would be ill advised to lose his head and go on an all out attack. He must keep calm and composed. Stay out of range, use his jab to work openings, and use his blistering hand speed to punish Barrera when the opportunity arrives.

My prediction - Khan TKO 8

I just feel Khan will be too fast, and too big for Barrera. If Khan has learnt to stay composed and pick his attacks, Barrera is in for a painful night. I can see Khan stopping him against the ropes with a rapid succession of clean, accurate shots.

I agree. I think Khan is too big and much too young. Barrera is way too old imo. Now unless Don King gets involved, Khan wins by decision, because I don't think he has that one-hit punching power needed to KO Barrera, of course I could be wrong...

Remember though, this fight is in England. Our referees don't let fighter take too much straight punishment. If Barrera is looking tired in the late rounds, and Khan hits him with a flurry of unreplied punches, it may get stopped.

True. If Barrera wins, he probably has a world title shot. If Khan wins, he ends Barrera's career.

Payback for who? The british public? Most peeps i know were gagging for Barrera to take him out, including myself. Barrera was nothing but respectfull to naz before and after the fight. Im going to the fight and im guessing barrera will get an amazing response from the crowd, i doubt anyone will give a **** that he was the man who ended naseems career. They will just be happy to see the legend that is Barrera! I know thats why im going.
