    floyd is the 1st.

Like ive said on many occasions, it takes two fighters to make a fight happen. Cant blame Floyd for certain fights not happening. Also, there arent exactly many great fighters out there other than Pacquiao for Floyd to fight.

A great resume means you beat or face great fighters. What great fighters other than Pacquiao are there for him to face?

However in the last few weeks, man some of you posts have gone from bad to worse.
btw......what in this thread do you dispute?

my theory of great skills + good resume = great fighter?

my lists of 25 guys that is ranked higher than floyd when the guy called him top 25?

my sarcastic statement that floyd would beat hearns , leonard and hagler?

i don't think i stated anything in this thread that i would call unreasonable.

so lack of opposition adds to one's resume?

        i don't think so.

a resume is what it is.

you can't say , "oh because he had no one to fight."

it might not be his fault but it doesn't add to his resume.

marciano retired undefeated , ali lost.

ali might have the luxury of having great fighters to fight but do you add to marciano's and take away from ali because of it?

erm right.... then how does someone's resume be described as 'great'. Obviously fighting bums wont lead to a great resume. Guys like SRL, Ali etc have great resumes because they had great fighters to face. When i mean great i mean ATG worthy.

Who has Floyd got other than Pacman?

he had casamayor and freitas at 130 but he moved up.

spadafora would have been another solid win but it never happened.

he could have fought kostya at 140 but the timing is off.

cotto , mosley and margarito would all have been very good to great wins at 147 but it never happened.

floyd had his opportunities. he CHOSE to retire after 39 fights and barely being 30.

and again.......how does not having opponents add to one's resume?

if he didn't have anyone to fight that still doesn't mean his resume is better because of it.

Corrales fight was his last fight at SFW, it was hard making weight

This fight couldn't happen at all. Kostya come back from lay off had 2 fights. After those were done it was Hatton turn since he earned it more than Floyd

                .

                .
Called out both Mosley and Cotto. Cotto at 140. Mosley at 147 both said no. If there was one fighter you could say Mayweather ducked is Margarito. But that's a long story

I guess it was Mayweather choice for his body to break down so young

Like i said it takes two guys too make a fight happen. Floyd called out Casamayor but Casamayor didnt want nothing with him. Whats he ment to do wait around for him?

Tszyu at 140? Floyd called him out too. Didnt happen, for one reason or another.

The Mosley fight should have happened back at lightweight but sadly didnt.

Margarito called him out. Floyd should have faced him, but a win over Margarito wouldnt exactly put him higher in the ATG rankings.

Floyd retired at 30, the only fights out there for him are Pacquiao and Cotto. However even without these he's still top 30/35 ATG.

I just find it insulting when people talk about Floyd being a top 75-100 ATG. This is a guy that's gonna be crowned fighter of the decade next year.

And with regards to comparing him with Duran, you can never say never when comparing which fighters will win. Although Duran faced better opponents than him and is proberbly higher ATG than him, who's to say Mayweather cannot beat him?

Guys like Floyd adapt to different fighters styles. He's ring intelligence is incredible.
