Victor Ortiz will whoop Cotto's ass a few years from now. But the ricans will say he is old and past it.

      Sad but true.

It probably won't be a prime for prime thing, it would probably be more of a old guard vs young lion fight in a few years' time.

Not a chance, by the time Ortiz becomes a serious threat at WW, if he ever do, Cotto, Mosley,Cottey and Collazo will be long gone.

I can see him against berto, or a mega match with El Pollo de jesus from PR, if they both keeps their career as expected

Cpttp have already stated that he aint fighting past 30!!!!!!!!!

I can see it happening, but it wouldn't be prime for prime. Cotto is in his prime now. Ortiz needs a few years. If this fight happens it'll be 3-4 years down the road. I can see it being a sort of changing of the guard type Superfight. Something like Oscar vs Whitaker.

It's possible, I really think Ortiz will be the man @ 140 and eventually move to welter but I don't think Cotto will be the kind of fighters that waits too long to retire, if that happens let's say by 2011 would be a very interesting fight, if Cotto slip a little bit out of his prime he'll loose.

Its very possible that it can be a prime for prime thing if it would happen in 3-4 years. In 3 years ortiz can really be brought up, compare Cotto's 2005 status to his 2008 status. Especially since hes a Mexican American under Golden Boy Promotions that is already hot talk. In 3 years Cotto would be 31 and could still be in his prime. Mayweather is currently 32, Clottey 31, Margarito 31(in a few days).
