holy-valuev was disgraceful, they robbed a 46 year old man, whos given so much to the sport, of the distinction of being a 5 time HW champ

completely disgraceful, i'd like to give each of those judges a kick in the balls, and give valuev a goddamn wax, hes so hairy its unnatural

        Holyfield-Valuev, with Lewis-Holyfield a close second.

Holyfield should have made history that night. They ****ed him over big time. At least Lewis got another crack at Holyfield and won.

The thing that keeps me from voting for Holyfield-Valuev is that something like 40 of 42 or 38 of 40 jorunalists sitting at ringside had Valuev winning the fight, journalists from around the world too, not only journalists in Europe. I think it was just one of those fights that looked very different from TV and ringside.

I find that very very hard to believe. I remember watching on the stream on sportin wood (which you're also not going to believe this, it actually beat out Cotto-Margarito for highest amount of traffic on that channel I believe 15,000 people were watching it on that stream or something) and literally not one person in there thought Valuev won the fight. I dunno what the journalists were watching there.

I wasn’t there, Chris, so I didn’t score the fight publicly (stay tuned, because I will release my score publicly for the very first time!). My colleague, Martin Rogers, was there, and he had it 116-112 for Valuev. Our blogger, Steve Cofield, had it 116-112 for Holyfield. Watching on television, I thought Holyfield won, 115-113, but it was a terrible performance by both men. Martin was surprised to hear so many people watching on television felt Holyfield had won. He told me in an email that 38 of 40 writers covering the fight in person who were polled by a Swiss newspaper had Valuev. I’m not sure what to make of it, since I wasn’t there, but I know that both men stink and either would get cremated by a decent fighter.
Boxing's lack of quality heavyweights has hurt the sport, but some bright, young talent is on the horizon.

I had Holyfield winning too but it's not the first time that a fight looks different on TV and it won't be the last time either.
